I can’t believe I almost left Cali without visiting San Diego. Surely my second favourite place after San Francisco.
I really really liked the fact that is has both the city and beachy town feeling. Way bigger than Santa Barbara but has also beautiful beaches.
I arrived on Thursday afternoon, and went for a walk around after dropping my stuff at the hostel. I had a couple of hours before the girls arrived from LA.
The hostel was until now the worst I have been to, we wanted to stay at the USA hostels, because the one in LA is great but it was full already. For the same price …ours was nothing compared to USA hostel but never mind! We were in Little Italy and the area was nice and lively, I even went in a bar where I could order alcohol; that was “our little secret” as said the bouncer. J
So I spent most of the WE with Lia and her 2 Italian friends Martina and Veronica, and Eni and her friends from LA. We had cars so it made things way easier. Balboa Park, Down Town, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Coronado…very beautiful places.
The girls met some guys from San Diego one night (yes the night I stayed at the hostel…watching a movie cause well…the same story again!) anyway, the next day they took us in very cool places that we
would have never known about. Especially sunset cliff, an amazing place to see the sun set on the ocean and a fantastic view.
They had an open top jeep which was pretty cool. J
Yes, we know how to do things !
Oh and I almost forgot ! My first earthquake ! It was super impressive. On Sunday, while we were paying for our lunch in Coronado, everything started moving, moving a lot, and for what seemed for ever !!
It takes a few seconds (as everyone) during which everyone looks at each other, to make sure you are not hallucinating before you realise : oh an earthquake ! The epicentre was in Tijuana, so we really felt it a lot!
Anyway, it was nice spending time with the girls, said bye for good to my roomie; I’m going to miss them so much!
Drove back on Sunday night , arrived at Lia’s apartment where 10 other people were waiting for us !(Lorenzos friends from Italy!) The apartment looked like a dorm, it was fun.
Now I’m enjoying my last days in IV, and I guess this is one of my last articles on my blog…!
Xoxo.
See you soon.
