Hi there,
I have so much to say, I don’t even know where to start. I know it has been a while but I have so much going on, I can hardly find time to write anything.
Well last WE I was in San Francisco with Anna and her friend Julia visiting from Italy.
We took a night bus on Thursday evening, it went surprisingly FAST as we slept the whole way ! At some point I wake up, and see huge buildings all around me , and the driver yells “San Francisco”, at this point, I have no shoes on, A and J are still sleeping. 3 minutes later we are standing on the pavement, with our open sleeping bags in our arms not believing that its 6 in the morning, and that we almost missed our stop !
Anyway the We was really great, although it was raining almost non stop on Friday…and a little on Saturday.
We were staying at my Cousin Claire’s apartment, which was amazing with a beautiful view on the city.
Well we walked A LOT, cable car, union square, Chinatown, financial district, North Beach, the pier, golden gate and so much more. We had lunch in Chinatown, and it’s a fact I DO NOT UNDERSTAND Chinese people speaking English.
I was surprised how friendly, nice and helpful people were. I mean, that’s definitely something that I like about Americans, but it was even more striking in SF.
I think that at least 10 people asked us if we were lost, needed help or advise when we didn’t even ask anything.
On Saturday we met with Italian EAPs from Berkley, had a couple of beers (well, they had a couple of beers, I stuck to diet coke…)
We came home with a girl that studies in UCLA, she dropped us home, and it actually only took us a little over 5 hours so it was perfect.
Nothing special during the week, if you consider that going surfing one afternoon and seeing the most amazing sunset one evening is nothing special. J
Friday we had a party at Lorenzo and Lias place, (theme : “office party” in my opinion just an excuse for American girls to be almost naked….they can be sooo contradictory ! ).
These days, we are meeting a lot of new people which is really nice, although a lot of them are French…and I have been avoiding them as much as I could since I arrived. But we are hanging together a lot these days. Saturday was Carls birthday, believe me, 20 people from Science Po Paris (he had friends studying in Arizona over for the WE) in the same room freaks me out a little, but I must admit that they are kind of nice…
Next week is mid-term week, so I’m studying a lot at the moment. (Yes we do a bit of that too)
I can’t believe that I have been in the US for 6 months and that It’s February already…
That’s all for now!
Xoxo
